Cathe Tocher

Ms. Tocher is CIO & Senior Vice President, Investments at Great-West Financial®. She manages all separate account portfolios, growing assets under management from $250 million in 1990 to $15.0 billion currently. Portfolios are managed to custom investment policies comprised of investment grade fixed income asset classes, representing both total return and stable value strategies. Ms. Tocher has 5-star and 4-star Morningstar rated portfolios within the 401(k) marketplace. She has maintained her track record of beating portfolio benchmarks for 20 years. In addition to portfolio strategy and economic outlook, she manages institutional trading for Great-West Financial’s general insurance company portfolio. She also provides business line support for sales, education and client retention.

In her role as global general account portfolio manager and strategist, Ms. Tocher works with Great-West’s executive vice president and global chief investment officer. She has key roles in risk management, including asset-liability management, and product development, pricing and sales. Ms. Tocher is a director on the Great-West Capital Management Board and sits on other Great-West Funds committees.

Ms. Tocher joined the Investment Division of The Great-West Life Assurance Company in Winnipeg, Canada, in 1987, and moved to Great-West Life & Annuity’s U.S. headquarters in metro Denver in 1990. She was educated at the Universite de Poitiers, where she received a French diploma, and the University of Manitoba, where she received a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours Degree) in finance. She earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1998.
